Be your own lover, sweet talk yourself

In a society structured around the paradigm of reward and punishment, individuals are motivated to work and learn by feeling incompetent, hence, self-judgment is a common inner landscape for many of us. Nonetheless, Lau Kimling realized in a workshop that “love yourself” are not words of cliché. As the candidate of Nonviolent Communication trainer, Kimling has led number of workshops with parents, youth and for the blind, and she also strives to practice Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in daily life. Kimling contends the critical practice is to communicate with ourselves, “Be your own lover. It is like having a friend close as a shadow, who can listen and comfort you at any moment. It is such a satisfying experience.”
